Healthcare Data Analytics Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Analytica is seeking a Healthcare Data Analytics SME to support data and analytics for a high-profile federal client The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with clients in both a consulting and delivery capacity to tackle complex, enterprise cloud software and technology projects.  Analytica is looking for bright, motivated professionals looking to continue their career in the data analytics field.

This role will serve as in a data expert and statistician capacity supporting a federal IT project. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing the system data environment, determining areas of error and implementing strategies for data improvement.
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on system and vendor data regarding data quality and optimization of data translation efficiency.
  • Evaluating new potential data sources (both government and private industry supplied) to advise the government on data acquisition strategy and cost to benefit ratios.
  • Participating as the data SME on cross-project strategies including provider screening and enrollment data.
  • Providing expertise in screening, enrollment, and claims data to advise the government on making informed data driven business decisions.
  • Using a variety of industry accepted tools, standards, and methodologies in mathematics and statistics to determine both data quality strategies and analysis.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a data analyst on complex data systems and technical experience in data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or statistics.
  • Background in Medicare and Medicaid data analysis is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) tools and reporting packages including but not limited to Tableau, SAS, BusinessObjects, Cognos, Microstrategy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of databases such as Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL, DB2, SQL Server, Microsoft Access, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (e.g. Python, SPSS, SAS, Microsoft Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience writing queries, reports, and presentations of findings using formats geared to business owners and non-technical personnel.
